Opening Monday’s evening event, the Grand Jet d’Or Award Ceremony is designed to acknowledge and honor research excellence in tackling the critical nexus between pollution and human health.
Topic: “Health and medical solutions to address the adverse effects of pollution on humans”.
Prize: 50,000 € awarded by the AXA Research Fund.
Over 50 projects were submitted, reflecting the global urgency to address this pressing issue. Following meticulous evaluation by a distinguished Scientific Committee, the top seven applications have been shortlisted, poised for final examination in the coming days.
The winning research group will be announced and rewarded in person by Nils Reich, CEO of AXA Health for their defining contribution to mitigating pollution’s detrimental impact on public health.

On May 28th, a new Lancet Regional Health – Europe Series: ‘Addressing migration and health inequity in Europe’ will be launched at the Geneva Health Forum Day 2 on Migration and Health Equity, on the sidelines of the WHO World Health Assembly. The Series has been co-developed by the Lancet Migration European Regional Hub, which is hosted by the Geneva Centre of Humanitarian Studies at the University of Geneva. The Series has been guest edited by Professor Bernadette Kumar and Professor Karl Blanchet, co-Chairs of the Lancet Migration European Regional Hub.
The day will include an official launch event (12.45-13.45, Campus Biotech Auditorium) multidisciplinary panel discussions, poster presentations, networking, and a special evening event featuring migrants’ perspectives in their own words. Speakers and participants will include authors from the Series as well as Dr Pooja Jha, Editor-in-Chief of The Lancet Regional Health – Europe.
The Jets d’Or prizes are awarded to personalities from academic and scientific circles to reward contributions made to research. Each Jet d’Or benefits from the patronage of a private foundation.

Established in 2006 by the University Hospitals of Geneva (HUG) and the University of Geneva (UNIGE), the Geneva Health Forum (GHF) is a Swiss not-for-profit initiative that brings together a diverse range of stakeholders to discuss and address global health challenges.
The GHF plays a pivotal role in the global health landscape, as a neutral and inclusive platform, fostering dialogue and collaboration among key players in the field, including policymakers, representatives from academia, civil society, and the private sector.
Its core mission is to facilitate constructive dialogue among these global health actors, which, in turn, contributes to the improvement of health policies and access to care worldwide. The Geneva Health Forum proudly collaborates with some of the most prominent international organizations based in Geneva.
